How to reach Ohrid

By Air:

The closest airport to Ohrid is the Ohrid “St. Paul the Apostle” Airport, which is located about 10 kilometers from the city center. There are flights to and from several European cities, including Vienna, Zurich, London, and Dortmund, among others. You can check for flights on airlines such as Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, Chair Airlines, Corendon Airlines and Edelweiss.

By Bus:

If you’re travelling from other cities in North Macedonia, you can take a bus to Ohrid. There are several bus companies that operate regular services to Ohrid. The journey time will vary depending on where you’re coming from, but it usually takes around 3-4 hours from Skopje.

By Car:

Driving to Ohrid can be a convenient option if you have a rental car or your own vehicle. The city is well-connected to other parts of North Macedonia via several major highways, including the A2 and E65. If you’re driving from Skopje, the journey will take you around 2.5-3 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

By Train:

Unfortunately, there are no direct train services to Ohrid. However, if you’re traveling from other parts of Europe, you can take a train to Skopje and then transfer to a bus or rental car to reach Ohrid.

Once you’re in Ohrid, you can explore the city on foot or by taxi. The city is compact and easy to navigate, and there are several landmarks, museums, and restaurants to discover. Don’t forget to take a boat tour of Lake Ohrid, which is one of the main attractions of the city.
