The idea for ExploringOhrid.com was born out of love and passion for photography and the city of Ohrid. We wanted to create a website to showcase this ancient city’s unique beauty and all it has to offer. We started by exploring nature and streets, soaking up the atmosphere of this beautiful city.
We wanted a logo that would be instantly recognizable and representative of the city’s culture, history and everyday life.
The inspiration for the logo came from two iconic symbols of Ohrid – the Samuel’s Fortress and the traditional boat. The fortress symbolises the city’s rich history and cultural heritage, while the boat represents the importance of Lake Ohrid and the city’s close ties to nature.
To create the logo, we blended the shape of the fortress with the shape of the boat, resulting in a unique and distinctive design.
The colours we chose are warm sunset colours – representing the best time during the day, the golden hour in Ohrid.
